Rep. Steve Hunter
94th General Assembly
Rep. Steve Hunter, a Republican, represents part of Jasper County (District 127) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Hunter is a membership recruiter for Associated Industries of Missouri and works for an advertising company.
Rep. Hunter is a member of the following organizations: Carthage Rotary and Carl Junction, Carthage, Joplin and Sarcoxie Chambers of Commerce.
A state committeeman for the 32nd Senatorial District, Rep. Hunter is a past chairman of the Jasper County Central Committee and a past president of the Stateline Pachyderm Club.
A 1967 graduate of Albany High School, Rep. Hunter received a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education from Northwest Missouri State University in 1973 and a Master of Science degree in Secondary School Administration from Truman State University in 1977. He was a teacher for eight years.
Born March 22, 1949 in Bethany, Rep. Hunter resides in Joplin with his wife, Rita. They have three children: Terri, Robert and Chad, and three grandchildren: Whitney, Kyle and Bailey.
